Current Committees of the OLP PTG

Cultural Program Committee: This committee collaborates with the principal in selecting and scheduling all cultural and enrichment programs presented at the school throughout the school year.

Appreciation Luncheon: This committee plans and hosts a luncheon during Catholic Schools’ Week in honor of the faculty, administration, and staff.

In House PR: This committee collaborates with the principal and the PTG committee chairs to promote various project at OLP.

Membership Committee: This committee conducts the annual Parent / Teacher Guild membership campaign.

Staff Appreciation Committee: The members of this committee express our appreciation to the staff by leaving special treats at least once a month in the faculty room. and

Student Recognition/Sunshine Committee: This committee acknowledges significant school achievements in the lives of our students, as well as significant events in the lives of parents, staff, and friends of OLP.

Arrangements Committee: This project committee plans hospitality for the general membership meetings, orientation meetings, the open house and special occasions. The refreshments at many of these events are donated by the parents.

Nominating Committee: This committee develops a slate of candidates for the next year’s Board of Directors.

Publicity Committee: This committee collaborates with the principal to promote Our Lady of Peace School through the media.

Spiritual Committee: This committee collaborates with the principal in planning and arranging events that will engender Catholic values. The Spiritual Committee also organizes the student participation in the liturgies during Catholic School Week.

Lenten Basket Committee: This committee is responsible for the annual Lenten project and has become a labor of love at OLP. This community service project expresses hope for the future and sincere intentions for helping others.

Ways and Means: This committee oversees four fund raising projects sponsored by the guild.

Sweatshirt Committee: This committee is responsible for selling the "Pray for Peace" sweatshirts and T shirts.

Christmas/Easter Candy Committee: This committee is responsible for the annual holiday candy sale and is one of our major fund raising projects.

OLPeace Talks: This is a school newsletter published on a regular basis which informs the families at OLP about school activities and events. It also serves as a vehicle of communication from the Guild.

Smart Money: The members of this committee run the most successful fund raising program at OLP, "Smart Money."

Teacher Aides: This committee recruits parents to serve as "teacher aides" that assist some of our faculty members.

Parent Welcome: Sponsored by second grade parents, this committee hosts a welcome coffee and provides an opportunity for new parents to meet each on the first day of school.
